About Us

Gregory and Elaina are the caretakers of Wicklow Way farm.  In our seventh year, we are a certified organic market garden with 5 acres under cultivation and moving towards eight in order to keep a consistent 3 acres under green manure plants to nurture and feed our soil.  It is the soil that we care for in order for it to produce our beautiful, tasty and nutritious vegetables.  You name it and we probably grow it…

We grow 300 varieties of mixed vegetables and another 200 varieties of heirloom tomatoes.  Who knew there were over 40 different varieties of lettuces available?  We love to introduce people to the many different colours, sizes and tastes of vegetables long forgotten as well as some of the newer taste treats on the market today.

Beans – French filet, wax and broad
Peas - both shelling and sugar snaps
All manner of zucchini and patty pan squashes
Heirloom winter squash and pie pumpkins

Along with our large selection of vegetables we also bake sourdough artisan breads in our newly constructed outdoor wood-fired oven.  We have laying hens for eggs and both chickens and ducks for meat.  We recently adopted a couple of does for milk and small-scale cheese production.  We offer smoked tomatoes and dried tomatoes, smoked salt, fresh sprouts and in spring we sell tomato, eggplant and pepper plants starting on the May long weekend.

 

Please note:  some of these items are available only from our farm gate stand.
